By accessing and using ExpectFire ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.
ExpectFire is an alert service. You register an address you care about, and we text you the moment a 911 fire or EMS call is dispatched to that address. ExpectFire grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for this purpose.
Alerts are generated from public 911 dispatch data matched to the addresses on your account. This data comes from third-party dispatch feeds we do not control, and matches are made automatically by address. We do not guarantee that every dispatch will be detected, matched correctly, or delivered without delay, and you should not rely on ExpectFire as your only source of emergency information.
We send SMS text messages for two purposes: (1) one-time verification codes to sign in or verify your account by phone number, and (2) real-time dispatch alerts, notifying you when a 911 dispatch call is matched to your registered address. Text alerts are free and do not require a paid plan. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Message frequency is one message per sign-in/verification attempt, and for dispatch alerts, frequency depends on real 911 call activity near your registered address rather than a fixed schedule. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving messages at any time, or reply HELP for help. You may also withdraw consent by disabling text alerts in your account settings or contacting us to remove your phone number from your account; since phone number is also your sign-in credential, removing it may require switching your account to email sign-in first.
You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the addresses and contact information on your account. You agree to:
Real-time text alerts for one address are free, no paid plan required. Family is $5.99/moand covers up to five addresses on one account. Annual billing is also available at a discount. Family is billed through Stripe, our payment processor, and you can cancel or change your plan at any time from your account's billing settings.
14-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with Family within 14 days of your first payment on that plan, contact us at paul@expectfire.com and we'll refund that payment in full, no questions asked. This applies to your first payment on a new Family subscription only, not to every renewal, and does not extend the trial window past 14 days from the original charge.
ExpectFire is a notification service and does not guarantee emergency response outcomes, alert delivery, or alert timing. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and is not a substitute for calling 911 or for any official emergency notification system. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including a missed, delayed, or inaccurate alert.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
